If you’re looking for reasonably priced 1 of 1 clothing, Artixan has you covered!
Washington-based cut and sewist Jacob Rivera has been gracing streetwear with custom garments from his brand Artixan for over a year now. With an attention to both pattern cutting and seam allowance that many designers today cannot appreciate, Rivera has made countless garments with unique fabric AND fabrication methods that not only express his creative skills but also his attention to fit and silhouette, which is a huge part of clothing design.
Recently, Artixan has been making waves with their painted clothing. Some standouts are the Andy Warhol portraits of Marilyn Monroe spray painted on bleached white jeans, as well as the popular picture of Uma Thurman from Pulp Fiction spray painted black on a vintage white sweater. Also in the theme of Pulp Fiction, they also previewed a pair of blue jeans with the iconic characters Vincent and Jules. This piece is especially interesting not only because of the imagery, but also because the muzzles of their pistols are being depicted with eyelet detailing, a touch that goes above simple graphic customization.
Most of their items are sold out right now but you can buy what’s left on either their depop or through TrillMRKT. If I were you, I’d keep an eye on this brand. To be this young and already have a close-knit, supportive following for such niche items means there’s more to this brand than first meets the eye and I think Artixan’s got way more to show.
